Chemical Peels in Crestview Hills, Kentucky

Chemical peels are an excellent solution for achieving satin-soft, vibrant skin. At Bellava Aesthetics, our medical-grade chemical peels provide a radiant glow reminiscent of a weekend at the beach. These treatments gently exfoliate the surface layer of the skin, helping to diminish wrinkles, dull skin cells, and scars.

We offer the VI Peel, which is customizable for all skin types. Our selection includes various chemical peels with different strengths tailored to your specific skincare concerns and goals. These treatments are ideal for improving the appearance of the outer layer of the skin and can be applied to areas such as the face, eyes, lips, hands, arms, legs, and décolleté.

While downtime may vary depending on the peel, it’s typically minimal and easy to manage—nothing a stylish hat can’t hide. The result is flawless, rejuvenated skin that makes the brief recovery period worth it!

Perfect for those looking to achieve:

  • Enhanced skin texture and tone
  • Reduced acne scars
  • Diminished appearance of hyperpigmentation
  • Improved cell turnover rate
  • Brighter complexion
  • Lifting and tightening effects

The Treatments

The range of peels we offer includes solutions for exfoliating sensitive skin to medium-depth peels that treat acne-prone skin. The peels contain ingredients such as BHA and AHA for maximum personalization resulting in minimal downtime. We recommend getting several peel treatments to boost your skin’s health and rejuvenation while combining the application of medical-grade skin care products and sunscreen. Chemical Peels can be used with other treatments to help you achieve your desired aesthetic appearance.

The Perfect Derma Peel

The Perfect Derma Peel is a medium-depth treatment that addresses various skin concerns. Using a blend of ingredients like TCA, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Kojic Acid, and Glutathione, it targets issues such as sun damage, melasma, fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and uneven skin tone. This peel improves skin texture and overall appearance. The Perfect Derma Plus Plus or Clear Acne Booster can be added for enhanced results. A 15-minute pre-evaluation is required to determine if this treatment suits your skin—call (859)444-7445 to schedule your consultation.

ZO 3-Step Peel

The ZO 3-step peel is dramatically effective. This medium-depth peel will provide you with longer-lasting results than most peels. It works as deep as the dermal layer by stimulating collagen production and renewing and exfoliating the epidermal layer. This dual action will provide you with a deeper and more results-driven service.

The peel solution consists of 17% salicylic acid, 10% TCA (trichloroacetic acid), and 5% lactic acid. A 6% retinol packet is applied directly after the peel, and another packet is given to you to use the day after your treatment. Some downtime is needed, but the benefits are well worth the wait.

YOUR BENEFITS

If you experience skin conditions such as melasma, acne, fine lines, texture, roughness, large pores, and dullness, then the ZO 3-Step peel is perfect for you. All skin types and colors can benefit from it.

After your 3-step peel, you can expect to notice an improvement in your skin’s natural barrier function as well as your skin’s ability to repair and renew itself. The ZO 3-Step peel will provide antioxidant protection, DNA repair, and anti-inflammation benefits. Much of your outside skin concerns contribute to what is happening beneath the surface. When we address the area beneath your skin’s outer layer, we can address your short-term problems and improve your skin’s quality over a long period. The ZO peel will do just that by correcting your concerns from the inside out.

BEFORE AND AFTERCARE

At Bellava Aesthetics, we emphasize the importance of safe and effective treatment. How your body naturally responds to specific treatments and products determines the effectiveness of your results. Current product use, medical conditions, and other contraindications all matter when ensuring safe and effective results. The ZO 3-Step peel is no exception. In your consultation, your provider will discuss contraindications for the ZO 3-Step peel in more depth.

Before Care

The skin must be preconditioned to achieve optimal results from this peel. Beginning four to six weeks before your peel, a protocol that includes retinoic acid or a 0.5% or higher retinol product is recommended. If you have a history of cold sores, take an antiviral prescription before your appointment. Since the peel goes deeper into the skin, it can cause an outbreak in the treated area.

Some contraindications to this peel include active herpes, simplex, or warts in the treatment area, pregnancy or lactating, history of radiation therapy in the area to be treated, and allergies to salicylates. If you have any questions or concerns regarding any contraindications or safety before care, call Bellava Aesthetics at 859-444-7445.

After Care

After the peel, avoid washing your face or treated area for at least five hours, preferably until morning. The day after the peel, wash the face or treated area with a gentle cleanser, rinse, and pat dry. Apply the second packet of Retinol Crème Complex and a thin layer of Hydrating Crème. The Hydrating Crème can be applied three times daily or more often if needed.

After the peel, avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7-10 days. Once the skin has healed completely, sunscreen may be used. Aside from the Retinol Crème Complex, refrain from using alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, or other potentially irritating products until the skin is healed.

While showering, avoid getting water directly on your face. Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until your skin is completely healed. Also, avoid procedures such as facials, hair removal, microdermabrasion, and lasers until your skin is fully healed.

Your service provider will discuss the aftercare requirements and recommendations in depth after your treatment. If you have any concerns or questions during or after your treatment, you are encouraged to ask your provider right away or call them at 859-444-7445.

YOUR DOWNTIME

Directly after your treatment, it is expected to experience redness, dryness, itchiness, stinging, tightness, and mild swelling. Your skin will naturally begin to exfoliate (peel or flake) 2-3 days after the treatment, lasting up to five days. Do not ever physically pick or peel at your skin that is in the process of flaking. It is suggested that scissors be used to clip any hanging skin that may occur from the natural exfoliating process. It is usual for your skin to appear darker during the healing process.

If you experience burning or intense pain during your healing process, call your service provider immediately.

Our model experienced average peeling and flaking on days 2-3 in the image shown to the right. Click this post to see this model’s complete day-by-day ZO 3-Step peeling process.

YOUR NEXT STEPS

For optimal results, you are encouraged to receive a minimum of three ZO peels. FAQs

A chemical peel treats fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. It suits most skin types, but a consultation is necessary to determine the best peel for your concerns.
Results usually become visible after three to seven days when the skin begins to peel. Full results are often seen once the peeling process is complete, revealing smoother, more even-toned skin.
Chemical peels can produce long-term results for a few months after the peel, depending on its depth and how you care for your skin. Regular maintenance and proper skin care can extend the longevity of the results.
The length of downtime varies based on the strength of the peel. Some redness, peeling, and irritation may occur for a few days after the treatment. Stronger peels may require more recovery time. It’s essential to follow post-treatment care instructions.
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and sun exposure before a chemical peel to prevent irritation. After the peel, keeping your skin hydrated and protected from the sun is essential. Your provider will provide specific instructions for aftercare.
An application of the chemical solution is made to the skin for a few minutes during the treatment. There may be tingling or burning sensations. The solution is then neutralized or removed, and a soothing ointment is applied. Peeling will begin after a few days.
